BEAVERTON, Ore., -- Clemson has struck gold once again in Florida.
On Tuesday, Top247 wide receiver Artavis Scott (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) committed to the Tigers on ESPNU during a broadcast of The Opening, where Scott is competing.
Scott also held offers from Florida, Michigan, Florida State, Miami (Fla.) and a host of others.
247Sports Crystal Ball had been trending Clemson of late to land the U.S. Army All-American Bowl selection.
Scott, who measured in at 5-foot-10.5, 179 pounds prior to testing at The Opening on Monday, is being recruited to Clemson by recruiting coordinator and wide receivers coach Jeff Scott. As a recruiter, Scott has done well for himself in the Sunshine State through the years.
For Clemson, Artavis Scott is commit No. 15, but the first from Florida -- where the Tigers often land quality prospects -- in this cycle.
Clemson has eight verbals from South Carolina, five from Georgia and one from North Carolina.
Scott is the No. 8 receiver nationally in the 247Composite.
