Four-star receiver Demarre Kitt of Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek announced on Twitter Thursday morning that he will be a Tiger.
@D_ocho: Aye bro @ShaunWatson4 you ready to break records together? I am officially committed to #clemson university.
Clemson247 has confirmed that Kitt reached out to the Clemson coaching staff at 8:30 Thursday morning to give his pledge.
Clemson247's Keith Niebuhr predicted Kitt to Clemson on April 25 with his Crystal Ball selection.
Kitt had this to say ""Clemson, because it felt like the best fit for me, and it felt like home. I visited Wednesday and after I left I decided I wanted to choose Clemson. Then I called the next morning.""
For Clemson, Kitt is commit No. 9, and he easily is one of the program's most significant pickups in this cycle. For starters, he's the No. 11 receiver in the 247 Composite.
Additionally, Kitt is the fifth verbal from Georgia, a state the Tigers are hitting hard.
Clemson has verbals from five of the Peach State's top 22 prospects.
Clemson receivers coach Jeff Scott was the primary recruiter of Kitt and his persistence paid off. Scott and the Tigers were on Kitt early and never wavered in their desire to have him in the class.
Even when Kitt was committed to Georgia, Clemson kept fighting.
After Kitt de-committed from the Bulldogs last year, Clemson took the lead, but then ultimately had to fight off programs such as Ohio State, Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee.
With the additions of Kitt on Thursday and four-star linebacker Korie Rogers on Wednesday night, Clemson has jumped up to No. 9 in the recruiting team rankings.
Kitt recently said he would announce his decision on June. 10.
Apparently, he didn't feel the need to wait.
