Hopkins leaving for NFL

DeAndre Hopkins

Clemson fans probably knew this day was coming, but now it's official -- All-America receiver DeAndre “Nuk” Hopkins is turning pro early.

Hopkins has decided to forego his senior year and enter the 2013 NFL draft.

According to the Clemson sports information department, he told his teammates at a team meeting late Thursday afternoon.

In a nutshell, Hopkins was terrific in 2012.

The Palmetto State native recorded 82 receptions for 1,405 yards and 18 touchdowns in 13 games, setting the ACC TD receptions record.
