Carl Lawson, a five-star defensive end from Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton, told Clemson247 on Wednesday night he plans to make an official visit to Clemson sometime soon.
Carl Lawson has not yet set a date for his Clemson official.
The date for that visit, however, is not yet known.
According to Lawson, who is committed to Auburn, he plans to make official visits to at least two other schools.
"Taking officials to [Southern Cal], Ole Miss and Clemson," Lawson said in a text.
Lawson made an unofficial visit to Clemson on Nov. 24 for the South Carolina game. He is close friends with Tigers receiver commit Ryan Jenkins of Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter, and that is who he spent much of that day with.
Clemson has been working overtime to get Lawson on campus again.
The Tigers have been by his school three times since the NCAA contact period began two weeks ago.
Lawson is the No. 1 weak-side defensive end in the 247Composite rankings.
Asked Tuesday night to comment on his status with Auburn, he replied that he was "not going to comment."
