You have no favorite boards.
-Run the ball 25-30 times and at least 20 of those with running backs
-When LSU does throw the Clemson secondary needs to make plays on the ball. Mettenburger is prone too mistakes, make him pay.
Don't go away from the run if its working.
Hope that lsu's offense and defense gets the flu...haha
Defense - tackle well. Just can't allow extra yards after contact. If you do that LSU will have some 2nd and 3rd and long down and distance, making them have to throw which is what you want with them.
Offense - establish some run game, including using Boyd as a runner. If we get into 3rd and long we're dead.
Offense - block Mingo and Montgomery. Talented DEs have eaten Clemson's O-Line alive this year.
Defense - I agree with Cory. Make a play on the ball when Mettenberger makes a mistake throwing it.
You have to establish a run game. AND STICK with it
Don't give up the big play
Chad and Tajh can't shit their pants. There will be some adversity. We cannot panic and these two, though two of my favorites, are the most prone to do so.
We must prove we can somewhat stop their run game... at least slow it down and try to force Mett to beat us.
I think Morris has to get Boyd in a rhythm early and stay away from crossing patterns until he settles down. Boyd tends to make his mistakes between the hashes.
I think Miles may go right at Clemson's secondary to see what he can get away with. Mettenburger had 296 yards against Bama. It will be interesting to see how Miles wants to attack Clemson. Conventional wisdom says he'll pound the run, that means he won't knowing him.
I think we must find a way to keep LSU off balance. If they are forced to hesitate and think, we will do better than trying to beat them in direct fashion. Unfortunately, we can't hope to score everytime but must view sustaining drives as a success rather than expecting to use Morris' plan to put up big points and long scores like we saw in the ACC games
A first down rather than a TD should not be reason to panic, but should be seen as a succesful step for an ultimate payoff score at the end of the drive. Highlight reel scores were many and became expected in the ACC games. To expect the same against LSU isn't a good idea. WE CANNOT PANIC!
Offense - run the ball over half the time.
Defense - stop the run.
Sorry to be so short, but it really is that simple.
Don't make Mettenberger look like the damn Heisman winner.
Run the football over 50% of the time.
