2/8 News: Bizarre story on Reuben Foster's dad, attendance, etc.

  • One of the top linebackers in this year’s recruiting class, Reuben Foster, made a high-profile commitment to Alabama earlier this week just before National Signing Day. Foster had previously been committed to Auburn — so committed, in fact, he chose to tattoo it on his forearm — after originally flipping from the Tide.

Turns out, Foster’s back-and-forth between Alabama and Auburn only slightly scratches the surface of his life story. According to CBS42, Foster’s biological father was arrested in Dania Beach, Fla., by the U.S. Marshal’s office. The report states that Danny Foster shot at the 18-month-old Reuben and his mother in 1995, wounding his son in the back.

Danny Foster was indicted by a Randolph County grand jury and later arrested in California. He then escaped from prison in 1996 and has been working odd jobs in Florida under a different identity.

Simply stunning. You just never quite know what some of these high school seniors have gone through in their young lives.
