When we thought McCrary was a Clemson commit, I got 247Sports scouting director Gerry Hamilton to give me something about Jacob. Here's what he said:

"McCrary has always impressed with natural hands and ball skills. He reacts to the ball very well, tracks the ball in the air well and does a good job of playing through contact. As an athlete, he is quicker than fast; and his ability in space after the catch more impressive than his quickness getting into a route. His ability to maximize yards after the catch in space without being an explosive athlete is impressive. At the end of the day, Clemson is getting a physical player that has very good hands and plus ball skills."
