  • That's not relevant.

I'm talking strictly about rankings. And which teams deserve a higher ranking.

If you've beaten a team AND you have a better record than that team AND you have more quality wins than that team, you probably should be ranked ahead of them.

I could care less who wins any game. Anybody who knows me could tell you that.

The problem is, you think I'm knocking Carolina. I'm not. I think Carolina has an outstanding team. One that could finish in the Top 10.

That, however, was not the point.

The point was that an AP voter apparently isn't letting facts affect his ranking.

I agree with putting Florida around 11th. I think they are one of, if not the biggest, fraud in college football.

I think that's a valid point; and true in most cases. But take Florida and Texas A&M for instance. Florida was lucky enough to get Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel in his first every college start - and only won by 3 points. I believe that if they played today, Texas A&M beats Florida - and is the better team. But I also believe that Florida is fraud and will most likely be exposed in Talley in two weeks. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Just an example that I believe could be considered an exception to the rule.

    IF, IF, IF.

They played. And UF won. And it was on the road no less, in the most jacked up game in TAMU history.

UF's QB also was making his first start.

Ehh...maybe. Florida has 3 impressive wins in LSU, TAMU (road) and USC, and pushed Georgia right up to the end in their only loss. Sure they played like a dog last week, but who can get up for a game like that late in the season? I think their resume is pretty impressive in total. Their offense is mostly manure, but when the games have mattered, they've played some outstanding defense, and their punter is a huge weapon. I think they play FSU pretty tough.

Florida has 3 really good wins against TAMU, LSU and SC. There is no guarantee FSU exposes Florida. FSU has their own set of issues with game management. The Florida defense will be quite the test for FSU.

If Jimbo calls plays like he did against VT it will be a long night for FSU. VT had what 4-5 sacks on FSU? How many you think Florida gets?

The Florida win over Texas A&M looks good now. But reasoning tells you that it was not only Texas A&M's first game of the season, but Manziel's first ever collegiate start, and Sumlin's first game at Texas A&M. Point being, Game 10 would be a completely different animal than game 1.

The FSU vs VT game was in Blacksburg - FSU is a completely different team when playing inside the state of Florida. In other words, the amount of sacks are completely irrelevant.

  • I think vt's defense has started to get better later in the season. I'm not sure if fsu can beat Florida and just because of one factor and his names ej Manuel, don't trust him to win you games. I also think if we played fsu now we would beat them. Florida does have 3 good wins but ugh and sc in top ten is a joke and lsu being high is bout the same. Sc has one quality win same with uga.

Game one and ten are different for every team. It was a road win in a tough environment. Florida's defensive line may have something to say about sacks. Best group FSU will face all year so we don't know how they'll respond.

  • What is going on in here?...

Texas A&M has gotten better every week. They would smash Florida if they met right now. FSU will also smash Florida. Lock. Florida's offense in atrocious. They barely beat La-La last week. You think THAT is a Top 10 team?

    C'mon guys...

I have zero problem with UF being ranked high right now. They have one loss. Until they lose, they should be ranked high. When they lose, you can punish the hell out of them for not looking good in previous wins.

I'm not talking about their ranking as much as the respect they are getting here.

Florida's resume is good enough to warrant their ranking. But anyone who has watched them and Texas A&M at all should come to the conclusion that Texas A&M has gotten better all year while UF has regressed.
