Clemson's Ranking by AP Voter

  • For the record, I never said Florida had a great team.

    The argument I was making was this: If you look at resume, and the fact UF beat S. Carolina ... how could you have S. Carolina ahead of UF?

    To recap:

    - 1 less loss
    - won head to head by 4 TDs.

    That's all. My only point. Nothing more.

    Yet, a guy who covers South Carolina has them 7 spots ahead of UF. SC may end up with a better record, but as of right now, there is nothing to justify that. The teams just played a few weeks ago.

  • IMO sec has 6 teams that are good and the rest are avg to below avg. The big 12 has a few teams that could go toe to toe but I don't see one conference that from top to bottom is really good. Even in that 6 I think there's two that are frauds...just like miss st is a fraud. But the sec does have more good teams, but I don't think they are as dominant as espn makes them out to be.

    I sort of agree with you.

    But even if you say the SEC has 4 really good teams .... and NOT 6 .... that still means it has TWICE as many good teams as any other conference.

    The number 4 doesn't sound big until it's compared to the number 2.

    ESPN is all about hyperbole. But, the SEC has won 6 straight titles. ACC doesn't have one in more than a decade.

    That isn't ESPN's fault.

    Also, if UF is as average as most people in here say, FSU beating the 5th or sixth best SEC team AT HOME no less shouldn't be a big deal, right?

    But we all know if FSU wins, the ACC people will come out and say, "See!!"

    Can't have it both ways.

    The ACC has two top-12 type teams this year. And after that, it's just not good. At all. Unfortunately, it hasn't been strong from top to bottom lately at all.

    That said, FSU and Clemson are solid and probably could play with just about anybody. If either was unbeaten right now, they'd be in the top 5 and possibly having a shot at the BCS. Clemson lost to a good team. FSU did not.

  • Oh the acc is garbage and I despise it...I have no hate for the sec....I love southern football. I just get sick of the hype...like every team in sec is better than anybody. I'm not sure if Florida is a fraud, but they haven't looked good last two weeks.

    No. The Big 12 is the best conference this year. SEC is second.

    There is a thing called preexisting bias.

    Also, I would argue that the best team in the SEC right now is really still a Big 12 team.

    The SEC is typically the best, but top to bottom, the Big 12 is better this year. The SEC is still top heavy and good at the top, but the bottom of that league is pitiful this year. I'd also argue the top end isn't as good as usual. The computers seem to agree with me.

    Florida's resume is good enough to warrant their ranking. But anyone who has watched them and Texas A&M at all should come to the conclusion that Texas A&M has gotten better all year while UF has regressed.

    Which is exactly why I have Texas A&M ahead of Florida.

    I think that's a valid point; and true in most cases. But take Florida and Texas A&M for instance. Florida was lucky enough to get Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel in his first every college start - and only won by 3 points. I believe that if they played today, Texas A&M beats Florida - and is the better team. But I also believe that Florida is fraud and will most likely be exposed in Talley in two weeks. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

    Just an example that I believe could be considered an exception to the rule.

Same thing happened with LSU after the gimmicks they got dominated , pretty much the same thing at Bama except for some reason they wanted to throw the ball on first and goal from the 6yd line . Again these are facts not some ACc fan bias that you spew!
