I really wanted to see what this kid had...I thought he had nice size and couldve been a player.
Thought he was out of position his whole time here
You could be right.....
I just thought he was more of a safety didnt seem to be able to open his hips well
when i saw him at the chick fil a bowl practices, it was my first time seeing him up close.
He looked the part of a player....imo
Now safety may have been a better fit. IM sure he'll be and upper echelon player at Bethune
He was a great Safety in high school. This is a Cheese experiment gone horribly wrong. I wish he could have switched to Safety last year, but the injuries prevented the flexibility to move him. With a year under his belt, he would have competed for a starting job this Fall IMO. Good luck to him, and, as always, good riddance to Harbison.
This. Cheese really effed up the secondary and Cortez was a casualty in his "coaching"
Not sure what the inside story at Clemson was. I think clearly he was frustrated by lack of playing time. I'm not sure he really caught on to either system. I was hoping that second year under Venables we might see improvement and a maybe a more of a platoon role with some pt.
I read he had 2 children in FL and he wanted to be closer to home to be involved in their lives. I'm sure some of that is true, but if everything were going well here for him, I seriously doubt he leaves. Maybe he was a Cheese fan and was left because Cheese left.
Either way, I wish him well.
He had some family issues to take care of in Florida and felt it was better he was there.
