Kevin Jones @Mr_KevinJones Source: Georgia Tech and UVA will announce decision to leave ACC by Monday. Will join Big 10
Is this Kevin Jones reliable at all?
I wouldn't be surprised because of all the rumors going around about it.... but let's hope not. Clemson will be FINE regardless though because our program is at a point that we will definitely be picked up by one of major conferences if ACC falls apart. So I am not worried in that regard. I am mainly just sad about the situation because i really think within time, maybe the next 2-5 years we would see Miami/VT/UNC get top #25-30 good and that mixed with Louisville/FSU/Clemson would be a strong enough football conference to succeed. Miami and UNC were hit with probations but you can already see the progression coming for both. Hopefully the info about GT and UVA ends up not true or falling apart.
Anyone got any updates on this? Or anything?
Don't know if this will happen Monday... but there are definately some things going on. Again, nothing is ever done and no promises. Monday seems a bit early, but who knows now that the ACCCG game is over.
I think there could be merit to this. Schools are going to be aggressive from here on, making their moves before the conference can (again) attempt to increase the buyout figure. They may as well go for the conference they want, wait for the court to decide the Maryland buyout, and go from there. There is no reason not to - if it doesn't work out, the ACC will gladly welcome them back - they have no alternative.
Same feeling I'm getting. Things have gone quiet. Still a lot to happen today I guess ...
