At Clemson 247 we mentioned Saturday that there is a potential that Clemson Athletic Director Terry Don Phillips potentially may announce retirement soon.
According to our sources there's a potential Clemson's Athletic Director may announce his retirement Thursday.
Also our sources have indicated Clemson's Senior Associate Athletic Director Katie Hill could possibly announce retirement soon as well.
This is a situation we are keeping our eye on and will update you as we know.

Was this expected?
So, I tend to read into this that there is a definite profile of who they want to hire and they want the flexibility to be able to let the new AD bring in some of their own key players. Otherwise, I don't know why Hill would voluntarily retire.
I also wonder if we have some other staff that will see this move and decide to hang it up between now and the new regime coming in?
Despite what a lot of people think most information we're given is that someone outside of Clemson will be the next Clemson AD
I admit that a year ago, my thought would have been that Billy D or maybe even Kyle Y would have been shoe ins... however I have no doubt now that they will hire from the outside unless they can't find a suitable candidate and need a place holder for a few years. That said, I can't imagine that at this point in time we would settle for a place holder.
I'm just glad Katie Hill won't be the AD
Yoda ... I'm assuming this had nothing to do with the email you were expecting? Didn't you say you had some sort of announcement regarding the Swofford meeting?
Yes, I was told about a year ago that TDP had only 1 or 2 years left before he retired.
President Barker only has about 1 or 2 more years with Clemson before he is done.
Don't be surprised to hear Carolina Panthers Morrison's name brought up as a candidate.
The thing that will matter most to any candidate will be the status of the Athletic Department as a whole. There is a lot of old blood in the department, orange blood for sure, but we're talking 10, 15+ years of service. It's going to take a strong leader to come in and shake things up where needed. Clemson needs a candidate not afraid to come in and get dirty to get this program moving full steam ahead on a national level.

Do you think there is any chance this might happen? That hire would excite me. I don't know a lot about him but the things I have heard are good.
So, where was the announcement about Hill? Is she just going to quietly bow out win a new AD is hired?
Pretty much don't believe anything Clemson related coming from anywhere other than Clemson.
