Guys.....serious question

  • Do you think Clemson is considered to be a destination job by the coaching community? Just wanted some other opinions.....

  • Honestly, probably depends on the coach.

To a guy that wants to be at USC, Notre Dame, Bama or the NFL ... it will be different than someone that maybe grew up in S. Carolina.

It's really different person to person.

In general, I think a lot of people would agree it's probably one of the best 20 or so HC jobs in college football.

    -Expectations are high, but reasonable
-Ton of talent within 250 miles
    -Good facilities
    -Strong fan base
-Manageable schedule year in and year out.

  • Criteria for destination job IMO is 1) resources 2) natural recruiting base and 3) conference affiliation

With that, Texas, Alabama, FL, UGA, Southern Cal, Ohio State, Oklahoma are destination jobs. Everything else could be a good job but not elite.

For example, Oregon has 1 and 3. ND has 1. FSU has 1 and 2.

those are some good points but id say if you had atleast 1 and 2 then you could say its a good place to stay long term(only if youre in a bcs league) That being said I think there are a lot of people who are amazed at what they see in Clemson when they come for the first time and I think a good 85% would consider it a destination job
