LSU's defense overrated

  • LSU's defense was shredded for 463 yards by Ole Miss and 462 by Arkansas in their last two games, and barely squeaked out both wins over mediocre teams.

I like Clemson's chances of scoring 30-plus points.

    What am I, omniscient?

LSU just has a tendency to play down to their opponent...in no way is their defense overrated

Johnny Manziel stated, in an interview on Dan Patrick's show this morning, that LSU was the best defense he faced this year. They will be fresh, and stout, come 12/31.

PSU - If most recent games are in the equation, you need look no further than Clemson's last game. At home. 17 wasn't enough against USCe, and it won't be enough against LSU.

  • How deflated will LSU be about missing out on a BCS bowl? How many of their stud defenders will have one foot in the NFL draft already? Hard to see LSU mustering a great defensive effort in the bowl game. They gave up 26 TDs this year, Clemson should get 3-4 TDs.

  • Clemson fans are deflated after losing at home to Scar... again!

There is no room for any talk of optimism here. We are defeated.

  • Not sure I see that. LSU is a stout defense and will put a lot of pressure on Clemson. This is the best secondary Tajh has ever faced.

Yep. If he stares the receivers down, it will be a long, long night for our Tigers.

I don't know if they have a better secondary than FSU. I would say those secondaries are probably equal.

You make a good point but because of the competition level I'll take LSU's secondary all day.

  • Same story as with USC...if we can block them a little we have a chance. That said, we have to be committed to running the ball throughout the course of the game and not panicking if we get down a score. We were in good position against USC and FSU (both stout defenses) until we stopped being balanced.

Heres to hoping that the chad has learned his lesson and can grow as a playcaller throughout this time off....Just a personal theory but I feel the chad wants to run the ball more but dumbo is a pass happy guy and this may have an influence

That wouldn't surprise me at all.
