For Ryan Carter, this was a case of better late than never. And when Clemson offered, he jumped at the chance to be a Tiger.

Hmmm, seems like we got the guys we wanted otherwise. Surprised he got a committable offer?
Biggest knock on him strictly size? Runs a 4.5 iirc, and is physical. Bad hips or not great cover skills?

If we were going to offer him now, we should have done it when we had RK in the fold to lock him down.

Not the best hips. Would be better suited maybe for safety, but not a big kid ... 5-10/170.
Just a good player.

He will just be a speacial teams guy...good kid but no way he gets through the guys ahead of him...This is a dabo speacial wasting a scholly

Exactly, feels like one of his Alabama guys that he offers late that don't amount to much. Hope I'm wrong, sounds like a decent kid. I like that he is physical so at least on scout team, I hope he challenges our first team guys.

I agree, no ill will toward him but if were going to versign and take a chance why not get another OL or DL. I really wish we would change our OL strategy. Moving maybank and tra thomas is not an answer

Carter's not as big of a reach as a lot of others I can think of (including one in this class), but you have to wonder what his ceiling may be. Coty Sensabaugh was a 2-star we plucked away from App State 6 years ago, but he did have great speed and better hips. It's just hard to see Carter getting a lot of time at safety with some of the other guys in this class and surely what we'll bring in.
Still, I wish him the best and hope he proves all the doubters wrong. Seems like a good kid.
