Tyrone Crowder made official on Wednesday what has seemed like a forgone conclusion for quite awhile.
Tyrone Crowder is a four-star prospect.
Clemson will be his next stop.
Crowder, an offensive guard from Rockingham (N.C.) Richmond that is listed at 6-feet-1, 330 pounds, announced live on ESPNU that he would sign with the Tigers. According to Crowder, he chose Clemson over Georgia.
As far back as December, it was apparent Clemson was in excellent position.
During the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas in Spartangurg, Crowder told 247Sports he hadn't spoken with Georgia in a few weeks. In a subsequent interview in early January, though, he said Georgia had again made contact but even so the Bulldogs never really seemed like a serious threat.
Crowder took only one official visit and that was to Clemson in January.
Crowder has a 247Composite rating of 0.9443 (4 stars), is ranked No. 117 among all prospects and No. 7 among offensive guards.
He was an Under Armour All-American, but had an injured hand and could not participate in the game.
At that event, Crowder said this about the Tigers coaching staff: "I have a great relationship with them and we try to stay in contact as much as possible. We don't even have to be in that long of a conversation. Usually when we talk, it's just to see how I'm doing."

In December, Crowder was named to the Associated Press All-State team in North Carolina.
Besides Georgia, North Carolina also was seen as a contender at one time.
